Our readers have called asking why we haven’t covered a fatal rage shooting in San Francisco last month.
Our focus tends to stay here in Orange County but we like to respond to our readers request so here goes.
The shooting occured on June 22 in San Francisco, famous for many things including Tony Bennett’s heart, Gavin Newsome, being a self-declared “sanctuary city” and recent stories about sending illegal immigrant criminals to San Bernardino.
The man charged with shooting - with an AK 47 – to death Anthony Bologna, 49, and his sons, Michael, 20, and Matthew, 16, is Edwin Ramos, an El Salvador native and alleged gang member.
Apparently Ramos has had several brushes with the law and has somehow managed to avoid deportation.

I think Mayor Gavin Newsome should be charged with aiding and abetting criminals. He is trying to pass the buck off to the police dept, but most police dept heads get there marching orders from local elected officials. Now Mayor Newsome has blood on his hands and it’s not coming off that easy.
Our “government” is failing us, miserably. It’s quite disgusting.
Having lived and worked in S.F., our resident friends up north need to realize what we in S.Cal get — illegal immigration has become the scourge of many neighborhood’s existence. Wake up, you privileged blue hairds up north, money and race can no longer sequester you from the fact that whether your’re a minority, backing whatever party line, it appears many honest, hard working American citizens exist to pay for the illegals’ use of all the social services they frequent. I never thought I would agree that illegals are an underclass that have no right being here, let alone demand more of our services. I am an immgrant who worked hard and made something of myself, with no excuse or political backing. Get your heads out of your rarified, sactifieds behinds, San Franciscans/East Bay residents: You can not dump your problems on others or pretend it’s going to be okay by offering “sanctuary’. What a joke.

I love the picture of a grinning Gavin Newsome in one of the articles cited above. He must feel really proud of himself as should our President and leading Vaquero, Jorge Bush for putting another three notches on his gun.
I am sure next Mexico will give Gavin Newsom the Reconquista award like the one they just gave traitor Ted Kennedy.

13hm13 suggests we should not be concerned about murders and other violent crime committed by illegal immigrants because legal residents commit so much more. wow, that’s comforting. Question: howmuch of this type of crime is committed by those granted amnesty in 1986?
Considering that illegal aliens make up roughly 4% of the population, and that around 27% of illegals are incarcerated for various crimes, including murder, that’s a lot of crime! Folks like 13hm13 need to get their heads out of the fannies — but, I suspect that this person has another sort of agenda…
So, the murder of Anthony Bologna and his sons is “sensationalist trash”? That tells me what 13hm13 values. These lives lost mean nothing then.
Meanwhile, in Schuykill Co, PA, they are holding candle-light vigils for the murder of an illegal alien who got into a fight with some local teens. The fellow is practically being canonized as I type this.
I guess some people’s lives are just more ‘equal’ than others…

You have got to be kidding that you focus on local news. The OCR prints plenty of articles about crime across the nation. I recall articles about the Lacy Peterson murder and plenty of articles about the falsely accused of rape white students on the East Coast.
The OCR bias is pathetic! You choose the articles that paint the pictures you want us all to believe. I understand your liberal bias to support the underdog, but there is a point where you lose all credibility.
Hey, 13hm13 go check the local prision population ot the OC jail house. Get a reality check.
If this killer was previously arrested by the police and not turned in to INS then , Mayor Newsome by declaring SF as a “Sanctuary City” must bear responsibility for the deaths of the father and his two sons. Aiding and abetting comes to mind. What will it take to address the illegal criminal community? Does Mayor Newsome need to have his family shot up by some illegal criminal before he takes action?
